PSDI is a 501-C3 non-profit implementing the Holistic Poverty Eradication Model in rural, impoverished Bangladesh. Each family we collaborate with works with Bangladeshi social workers to build individualized plans to uplift entire families and communities by lending equal emphasis to the environment, social health, and economic progress. I worked as a visual communications intern for 18 months.

The majority of my work in Adobe Photoshop (InDesign & Photoshop) was distributed in print mail to our donor base. Above is an example of my design work for our year-end appeal of 2015.

Below are samples of my social media content development and scheduling:

PSDI Social Media Scheduling, July 2015

(for scheduling on Facebook and Twitter (@psdintl)

July spotlight focus: PEP (the Poverty Eradication Program) medical services & hospital development.

July 1st, 2015 [scheduled: 10am]: Twenty-five thousand extremely poor families have been living without access to even basic healthcare in the far northern part of Bangladesh. They live in a low-lying hoar (wetland) area which is subject to severe flooding during the monsoon season, isolating them from emergency medical attention for serious illnesses or injuries. July 1st, 2015 [scheduled: 4pm]: The lack of healthcare is responsible for high mortality and morbidity rates in this population -particularly among young mothers and their babies. The situation is especially critical after monsoon flooding, when water-borne diseases increase and in the cold season which follows, serious respiratory diseases mostly remain untreated.

July 5th, 2015 [scheduled: 10am]: On April 25th, PEP changed these villager’s lives by opening an area hospital to serve the region. The Hajigonj Rural Hospital is a collaborative effort by the villagers who donated the land, the Japanese Embassy in Bangladesh and Partners in Sustainable Development International (PSDI). July 10th, 2015 [pending: 10am]: The hospital will serve the people 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Medical equipment and medicines have been purchased and PEP has supplied all soft furnishing such as bedding, crockery etc. A portion of the land has been set aside to cultivate food for the inpatients. All staff is hired from the local area living close enough to assist whenever needed for nursing, food cultivation, maintenance and cooking.

July 15th, 2015 [scheduled: 10am]: Help us keep it going! The finances have been structured so that the hospital costs are underwritten for the first three years allowing time to build an endowment that will allow the hospital to become  self-sustaining from ongoing income for services from those who can afford to pay.

July 25th, 2015 [scheduled: 10am]: Be a part of creating an environment of health, hope and new life by becoming a friend of Hajigonj Hospital’s Endowment for the Future Fund. A modest gift to the hospital endowment of $25, $75 or $100 will ensure its ongoing success. Thank you!
